For our holiday gift exchange, every student brought a family favorite board or card game to school. We used a white elephant format to share the games, followed by teaching each other how to play them.

Before starting Thanksgiving vacation, the students participated in a STEM challenge where they built bridges using cranberries, toothpicks, and index cards. To test their effectiveness, we used gram weights to measure how much weight each bridge could hold. It was impressive to see the final designs and how strong many of the structures turned out to be.

We had a terrific time celebrating Halloween 2024! We ended the day with a classroom party, but not before working through some content. Our activities included experimenting with dissolution and building catapults. During the celebration, the students enjoyed plenty of treats and got to compete in marshmallow tosses, dice stacking challenges, and “Face the Cookie” battles.
Thank you to everyone who contributed time and items to make this experience possible!

Thank you, Dalius, a parent in our classroom, for taking these pictures while the students were at PE. I appreciate you sharing them and allowing me to post them on the website.

It was a terrific first week, with students mastering new routines and procedures, getting to know one another, and even taking the lead in some instruction. We completed our first Pro Se Court and explored the importance of beginning with an introduction when writing.

Our first donations have arrived. There are a lot of great items, and earning the money to purchase them is largely based on following the school-wide expectations of being Responsible, Respectful, and Safe.

This classroom is ready for Monday. A fresh coat of paint and the covering of a yellow wall and blue cabinets has made the space look entirely different. Thanks to Hunsberger parent Morgan for helping identify the best color for the wall!

The families at Hunsberger put together an extremely impressive Field Day. Students had 10 different rotations with an opportunity to spend 10 minutes at each one. A pretty terrific day to end a pretty terrific year.

Posted are pictures of our visit to Grizzly Creek Ranch. It proved to be a terrific day with a host of great experiences.
