One of my favorite holiday traditions is our game exchange. Students are introduced to new board games and teach one another how to play. Moreover, seeing kids play together, instead of being online, is great to watch.

Students participated in the district’s Holiday Art Contest, but with a twist. I asked them to consider what is iconic about Northern Nevada, what symbolizes our community, and to apply art techniques, we’ve learned over the last two years, to their pieces.

Students enjoyed a series of holiday craft activities and indulged in a cookie bar leading into the Winter Break.
Thank you to the families who contributed donations to the cookie bar, an activity created by the students.

For our holiday gift exchange, every student brought a family favorite board or card game to school. We used a white elephant format to share the games, followed by teaching each other how to play them.

Thank you to all the families who helped with the 2023 holiday celebration.

Thank you to all the parents who were able to assist with our holiday activities. We made snow globes, ornaments, and family gifts. A terrific way to end 2022 and a reminder that Westergard is a great community.
