What a great day for Field Day. The students completed 10 rotations in under two hours, finishing with a Sponge Relay Race. It was a perfect way to spend their penultimate day in 4th grade.

Thank you to all the families who shared treats and cards for our Valentine’s celebration. A special thank you to Jill for creating the salt clay art activity and adding all the extra features to enhance the presentation.

Students enjoyed a series of holiday craft activities and indulged in a cookie bar leading into the Winter Break.
Thank you to the families who contributed donations to the cookie bar, an activity created by the students.

For our holiday gift exchange, every student brought a family favorite board or card game to school. We used a white elephant format to share the games, followed by teaching each other how to play them.

Thank you, Dalius, a parent in our classroom, for taking these pictures while the students were at PE. I appreciate you sharing them and allowing me to post them on the website.

It was a terrific first week, with students mastering new routines and procedures, getting to know one another, and even taking the lead in some instruction. We completed our first Pro Se Court and explored the importance of beginning with an introduction when writing.

This classroom is ready for Monday. A fresh coat of paint and the covering of a yellow wall and blue cabinets has made the space look entirely different. Thanks to Hunsberger parent Morgan for helping identify the best color for the wall!

Describing what the students are able to do online is difficult, but here is my best shot at it. We have managed to keep or exceed the district pace in ELA and math. This is not insignificant, especially with a lot of the learning being done offline, while I meeting with small groups or conferring. Moreover, during a week that included snow days and delayed starts, many of the students Zoomed for optional learning about Nevada history, state test, and practice for the state test. Impressive!
